Celebrating MSBA’s North Star Lawyers

In 2012, the MSBA launched the North Star Lawyers program to recognize members who contribute at least 50 hours of pro bono service in a calendar year. This year, the MSBA proudly thanks and acknowledges the 737 North Star Lawyers for their dedication. (You can learn more about the program or see the list of this year’s honorees by visiting www.mnbar.org/northstar.) Together, these members provided over 82,000 hours of pro bono legal service, amounting to more than

$20.5 million in free legal advice for individuals with low incomes.

Furthermore, North Star Lawyers had the opportunity to specify where they performed their pro bono work. As a result of these submissions, The Advocate for Human Rights was randomly selected to receive a $5,000 grant from the Minnesota State Bar Foundation. This recognition underscores the collaborative efforts of MSBA members in supporting access to justice and legal assistance for those in need.
