Complex Litigation Associate Attorneys

Nichols Kaster is adding two associate attorneys to its nationwide class-action litigation and case generation team. If you are looking to use your law degree to advance social and economic justice through high-stakes litigation, this is the practice for you. The firm’s focus is on representing people, not corporations or the government. We do that through class actions that make change in the employment, consumer, school, insurance, healthcare, housing, banking, and financial arenas, among others.

One position will be in a traditional litigation capacity. This associate will take an active role in managing their own cases, writing, responding to, and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and participating in trials. You will have the opportunity to get involved right away. Unlike other firms, our associates are on the front lines of active litigation and will find the practice both challenging and rewarding.

The focus of the other associate position will be on generating new cases.  This associate will concentrate on researching new ideas, laws, and potential litigation consistent with the firm’s mission of bringing large scale cases that aim to shift the power imbalance in our everyday systems away from companies and government institutions and towards people. This work will include drafting complaints, client interaction, and other tasks around the originating and filing new cases, and may offer litigation opportunities in the future.

While the litigation position can be filled by a candidate with less litigation experience, it is anticipated that the case origination position would be best filled by a candidate with 2 or more years of litigation experience.

At Nichols Kaster, we believe that diversity in all forms improves every workplace and makes every organization better. Nichols Kaster is committed to creating an equitable, inclusive, and accessible work environment for our employees and to bringing a diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility lens to our work. We encourage members of historically underrepresented groups to apply.
