Keith Ellison’s Office, Volunteer Lawyers Network and Fredrikson &
Byron
This CLE will cover the many changes to Minnesota’s laws
on medical debt, bankruptcy, debt collection, and wage
garnishment
brought about by the Minnesota Debt
Fairness Act signed into law in May 2024, inspired by the ATJ Committee’s 2023
Consumer Debt Litigation Report. The CLE will be of interest
to advocates for patients, medical providers, anyone collecting medical debt, bankruptcy debtors, consumer debt
creditors, and employers who regularly process wage garnishment requests.
Lunch will be provided for those that participate in person.
