Join us for an interactive two-hour CLE is entirely
focused on deepening lawyers’ understanding about diversity, equity, and
inclusion in the legal profession and the practice of law. Attendees will be taught the multiple levels of cultural understanding,
giving them a framework to interpret their interactions with others in the legal
profession and the practice of law. This lesson will highlight how unconscious
bias may impact interactions with clients, other attorneys, and others in the
legal field. It will also highlight how those biases can affect their practice
of law and the administration of justice. Finally, the first lesson will also
provide attendees with steps to overcome their biases by moving through the
levels of cultural understanding toward unconscious competence. By gaining an
understanding of the levels of cultural understanding, attendees will be
educated about the prejudice they may place on others in the legal profession,
in the practice of law, and in the administration of justice.
