There is significant market momentum
behind decarbonizing the economy, both domestically and globally. And the
federal government has passed a series of new laws committing roughly half a
trillion dollars to future-proofing the U.S. economy and making good on our
country’s climate
commitments:
•
CHIPS and Science Act
•
Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act
(IIJA)
• Inflation Reduction
Act (IRA)
As transformative as these new laws
are, however, they will only achieve their full potential if we are able to
deploy the clean energy technologies and infrastructure these three laws
incentivize faster than the historical norm. And yet, there is a growing
backlash on elements of the decarbonization solution set that will hamper
deployment of clean energy technology and infrastructure—whether it’s solar
plants or new transmission lines—at the speed and scale required. Come hear from
Rolf Nordstrom, President & CEO of the Great Plains Institute, on how GPI
sees this new era of deployment and where new areas of opportunity are
emerging.
