The program will be a panel discussion of questions that arise regarding
employment mediation.
Topics will include:
• the qualifications and selection of the
mediator;
• how to deal with various persons who should (or perhaps
should not) attend the mediation session, including insurance adjusters,
interpreters, family members, and alleged harassers;
• the challenges of
mediation between a represented party and an unrepresented party;
• the
best time for a mediation and how to prepare for it, including pre-mediation
communications;
• the peculiarities of monetary negotiations in
employment mediations, including brackets and strategies for overcoming impasse;
and
• non-monetary terms that employment mediators frequently
encounter.
