Late August/early September is usually the time when Minnesotans
across the state gather for the Great Minnesota Get Together. Unfortunately, this year, our reality
is much different. However, the Public Law Section is here to provide
you with CLEs and connectivity in the State Fair’s place. Sure, we might not be
able to offer cheese curds, turkey legs, or Pronto Pups, but
we can offer high quality and timely CLE programming
that is relevant to you and your practice.
Join us for a three-day CLE series that covers everything from the upcoming election, student loans in
the wake of COVID-19, and EEOC guidance related to COVID-19 issues. The CLE
series will wrap up on the fourth day with a virtual award recognition ceremony
where we will honor those who distinguished themselves by their significant and
outstanding contributions to public service and the public practice of law in
2019-2020.
So, grab your own lunch (deep fryers and sticks optional) and tech device of
choice, and join other public law attorneys over the lunch hour* for our Public
Law CLE on a Stick Series from September 1 through September 4.
*the first CLE on September 1st begins at 11:45am. The other programs will
begin at 12pm.
Session
One: George Floyd, Covid-19, and the 2020 Elections and Beyond
The Covid-19 pandemic and the death of
George Floyd changed everything and nothing in American politics. This talk
examines how both impacted the 2020 elections in terms of the issues and the
way politics, campaigns, and voting are conducted. Emphasis will be on
discussing the significance of the 2020 elections and how in many ways it is
still all about Donald Trump and what a handful of voters in approximately seven
states will decide.
