Event Description
Deadline to Register: December 5,
2019
Registration will begin at 11:30 AM. The
program will begin at 12:00 PM.
The legal profession is
making strides toward assuring that the practice of law is diverse and
inclusive, but many challenges remain before these goals are met. The
challenges can be especially daunting in niche areas, such as the practice of
environmental law. We have assembled a panel to discuss diversity and
inclusion in the practice of law, including efforts both in-house and at law
firms. Our panel will also include a representative from the environmental
consulting community to gain insights from their diversity and inclusion
efforts. The panel will discuss perceived barriers to hiring, retention,
promotion, professional development and full participation of lawyers of color,
women, and other diverse individuals. The panel will also identify
successful diversity and inclusion strategies and discuss how they can apply to
the environmental practice.
