The death of George Floyd nearly a year ago shook the nation
and the world. Among other things, it refocused criminal law reformers on
the continuing problems of racial disparities, over-incarceration, and the relationship
between the police and the communities they serve. Professor Mark Osler, a
former federal prosecutor and reform advocate who teaches at the University of
St. Thomas, will talk about these swirling currents and what might come
next.
Folllowing
the
presentation, a moderated discussion about the issues will be led by Erikka Ryan, Director
of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the bar association.
