"News and Views from Minnesota Community Mediation Programs"

Community Mediation Centers in the state of Minnesota provide parties a chance to resolve their own issues before a conflict escalates. These mediation centers use trained volunteers from the community to help those in the community resolve low level conflicts before they escalate. Lawyers and others with both mediation skills and the appropriate training volunteer through these organizations to make a difference in their communities. Various Courts in the state of Minnesota work with community mediation centers to give parties the chance to resolve issues on their own.

Lawyers attending this CLE will understand how mediation assists people in resolving conflicts that have arisen before these conflicts escalate. Lawyers attending this CLE will also learn what community mediation centers do differently than private mediators in Minnesota, as there are additional statues that govern community mediation.
